I just updated the Wiki Navigation and I wanted to know what your thoughts on it are. The original thing I wanted to do didn't work out, so this is the current result. I feel like there can be another tab at the top which could be called "People" and it would take users to characters, directors, Jeremy Zag, and anyone else here on the ZT Wiki.
I know there isn't much here yet, but with the extra stuff I added at the top for the other shows, there is much left to do!
Also, with the "Male Characters" and "Female Characters" categories, it was a habit to put that in because the plain "Males" and "Females" categories are used for actual human beings on the ML and ZS Wikias. If you have any preference on changing the categories or how to categorize people, please, let me know! This is your Wikia, after all.
Also, for the pages that are about the shows themselves, should there be a link to that show's Wikia? That way, since not everything about every show is going to be on this Wikia, the people who visit here will be able to learn more.
Having a tab called People on the navigation tab is definitely great!
For the "Male Characters" and "Female Characters" category you added for Marinette and Adrien's pages, I removed them because they were talking about the gender in general, and having "Male and Female Characters" were kind of like adding subcategories to a category that can stand fine alone. I hope that makes sense to you :3
And their should be a link to that show's Wiki, if there is a wiki for it, of course, that should be under a heading called "Links".
How do you want to categorize the pages for actual people? As I said earlier, I'm used to using "Males" and "Females" alone for the people, but those are in use for the characters. How do you want to distinguish between actual people and characters in the categories area?
I've updated it again. The difference between the Shows tab and the Characters tab is where the links are going. In the Shows tab, the links are going to the shows. In the Characters tab, the links are going to the categories for the characters of specific shows. I decided that it would be too much to place both people and characters in the same tab, so I made the People tab. If you want to see the mess, here's the link.
From this, two questions are raised:
1) With the show categories such as ZAG Princess and ZAG Heroez, will there be categories such as "ZAG Princess Characters"? If so, this would allow me to link the category relating to that to the words "ZAG Princess" in the navigation bar. If not, then those four sections in the Characters section will not link to anything; it would be too confusing having them link back the way they do in the Shows section since it's a different thing entirely.
2) With the people category, I need to know how you are going to categorize people for each show. Jeremy doesn't need to be categorized because he works on so many different shows at once, so he's getting his own little spot. Please let me know how you want to categorize the actual people on here. Also, with company pages (such as SAMG) do you want them up in the People tab as well? There's enough room for them.
Also, because of the links that appear to be missing whenever someone clicks on either "Show" or "Characters," do you want an overarching category where every show has the show category and every character has the character category? If not, then people will accidentally click on it (or be forced to click on it because of mobile) and it will take them to a "Page not found" link, prompting them to create a page.
I'd say no to the categories. And the staff, they'd just be categorized in their gender, and in "Staff", not "People". For the companies, they could be under the People tab. But I'd prefer if all the staff were part of the People tab, since there's not enough room to put other tabs.
And I'll just try to fix the links they put on the nav tabs.
UPDATE: I fixed the nav tabs so that there won't be a link when you click it, with the exception of the first and last tabs, because they are automatically there and you can't edit them (they also have pages of their own).
Yeah, but how is the staff going to be divided? Some people only work on one show, some people work on multiple shows but are showrunners for one specific show, and some people are just there. Would it be better to divide the staff section into things like Directors, Artists, Voice Actors, et cetera, or would it be better to categorize them by show with categories such as "Miraculous Ladybug Staff"?
On the nav tab, the people should stay into the same tab, but they should have different sections saying "Directors", "Artists", etc. And like you said, some staffs have more than one show, such as Jeremy Zag. So if he makes multiple shows, it wouldn't make sense (and it would be overwhelming) if we put Miraculous Ladybug Staff, Pixie Girl Staff, etc. I think for the nav tab it would be best to divide them into sections (which I'll probably do), and keep the pages the same.
I still feel like Jeremy should have his own little section because of how important he is, but, that's up to you. I made a Companies section for companies such as SAMG and Zag Animation. The Staff section is there and it currently connects to the Staff Category.
Hi Lily, I'm founder of the Ghostforce wiki and a contributor on the Miraculous Ladybug wiki! I only just realized this wiki existed and I saw that you asked Tansy for help with this wiki. If it's okay, I'd be willing to help you with polishing up the wiki. I hope for a quick response from you. Have a nice day!
